Admissions Open at IIM Kashipur for Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) 2017

IIM Kashipur has started the admission process for its full-time residential Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) starting in 2017.

IIM Kashipur will open the online link to applications on 2nd December 2016, for their full time residential Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) for the academic session 2017.

About the Programme:

IIM Kashipur’s full-time residential Fellow Programme Management (FPM) is designed to train the scholars with correct set of skills that will enable them to recognise and research on complex issues in and around the field of management. The chosen candidates of this programme are with excellent academic backgrounds, sincere, curious and disciplined to make valuable scholarly contributions. The programme will train the scholars to achieve great heights in their area of research and publish work that is up to the mark and at par with international standards.

Programme Duration:

The minimum time given to the candidates to complete their thesis is four to four and half years from the date of initial registration, and the maximum time that they can take to complete their thesis is six years from the date of initial registration, within which they have to complete their thesis.
Candidates can opt from one of the following specialisations:


1. Operations Management and Decision Sciences (Operations Research/Statistics)
2. Organizational Behaviour and HRM
3. Marketing
4. Finance
5. Information Technology & Systems
6. Strategic Management
7. Economics and Business Environment
8. Business Communication

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates applying for the programme must possess either one of the following qualifications obtained from a university that has been incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or any other educational institution that has been established by an act of parliament or declared as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification that is duly recognized by the HRD Ministry, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an AICTE approved institution.

• A master's degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks or an equivalent grade point average with a Bachelor's degree / equivalent qualification (OR)

• A five year integrated Master’s Degree Programme in any discipline with minimum 60% marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent (OR)

• A professional qualification duly recognized by the UGC/AICTE/AIU that is equivalent to a master’s degree (like CA, CMA, CS) with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade point average (OR)

• 4 years / 8 semester bachelor's degree (B.E./B. Tech./B. Arch. etc.) with minimum 60% marks or an equivalent grade point average.

Prior work experience in the industry or academics (reputed organisations) will be duly considered and given credit for during the selection process, but it is not mandatory. Only positions as full- time executives or as management teachers in reputed organisations or institutions will be considered as valid work experience. 

Students in their final year, appearing for their final examinations can also apply. But, their admission to the programme, if selected will be provisional, subject to the successful completion of all the requirements needed for completing their respective degrees before 30th June, 2017 (a letter needs to be obtained by the FPM scholar from the Head of the concerned Institution to this effect) and positively produce all the degree completion certificates by the 31st of December 2017 (fitting all the eligibility criteria). Any scholar with provisional admission who fails to fulfil all the admission eligibility criteria by the 31st December 2017 will have his/ her admission terminated. Monthly scholarship or any other applicable grant w.e.f. July 2017 for the provisional candidates will be released only after they have cleared all the eligibility criteria by the 31st of December 2017.

After submitting their online application forms, the printed copy of the completed application form along with all the required documents must be couriered (by Speed or Registered Post only) and reach the Admission Office, IIM Kashipur, Bazpur Road, Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand- 244713 latest by 15th March, 2017.

An application fee of Rs. 1000/- is charged, which can be transferred to the institutes’ account through NEFT. Details of bank transfer are as follows:

Selection Process:

1. The process of selection is designed to comprehend a candidates’ motivation and research capabilities. Interviews determine a candidates’ motivation for research. Along with the application form, candidates are also required to submit the relevant test scores. Only those candidates who are shortlisted will be called down for an interview.  The personal interview will determine a candidates’ academic preparation for the specific area of specialization that he/ she has opted for. An applicant can apply at most to two different areas of specialization.

2. Depending on the specialization chosen by the candidate, they need to take the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2016 or provide alternative test scores in place of CAT, depending on their specializations, as specified below. (Alternative tests must be taken in the preceding two years period on the date of application)

o Operations Management & Decision Sciences :CAT / GMAT / GRE / GATE
o Organizational Behaviour and HRM: CAT / GMAT / GRE / GATE/ UGC-JRF in relevant discipline
o Marketing: CAT / GMAT / GRE / UGC-JRF in relevant discipline
o Finance: CAT / GMAT / GRE / UGC-JRF in relevant discipline
o Information Technology & Systems: CAT / GMAT / GRE / GATE
o Strategic Management : CAT/ GRE/ UGC-JRF in any discipline in relevant discipline
o Economics and Business Environment: CAT / GMAT / GRE, in relevant discipline
o Business Communication: CAT / GMAT / GRE/ UGC-JRF in relevant discipline

3. Alumni from any of the IIMs need not provide the standard test scores, who have completed PGP/PGDM (two year fulltime) and passed with a minimum CGPA of 7 on a 10 point scale or an equivalent 3.0 in 4.0 point scale or equivalent (passed in the preceding ten years period at the time of the application)

4. Personal interviews of all shortlisted candidates will be conducted at IIM Kashipur on April 12, 2017.
