AILET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

AILET 2018 Eligibility CriteriaAILET 2018, a short form of All India Law Entrance Test, is an all India level entrance exam required for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the discipline of law. The National Law University (NLU) conducts AILET exam in order to evaluate students’ skills and aptitude for law courses offered by the University and its other affiliated colleges.

Just like every other year, AILET is going to be held on the first Sunday of May this year also. NLU will begin the sale of AILET 2018 Application Forms in the month of January 2018, which will remain open until the first week of April 2018.

Based on previous years’ fee, AILET 2018 application fee is expected to be INR 3000 for general category students while students belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD categories are required to pay INR 1000/-.

AILET 2018 is conducted to evaluate students’ ability to be eligible for admission to BA LLB, LLM and PhD programs. AILET 2018 aspirants can check course wise eligibility criteria for AILET 2018 here-

AILET 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

BA LLB (Five-Year Program):

The applicant should complete 12th in any stream with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognised board. Those appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for AILET 2018.

LLM (One-Year):

The applicant must have an LLB or any other equivalent degree from a Bar Council of India (BCI). The candidate must have secure a minimum 55% marks in aggregate in the degree exam. For students belonging to SC, ST or PWD categories, there is a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate percentage required, which makes it 50%.

Ph.D:

The applicant should hold an LLM or any other equivalent degree from a BCI recognised university. The minimum percentage required for AILET 2018 for Ph.D students is 55% for general category students while for reserved category (SC, ST and PWD) students, this criterion is 50%.

Students appearing for their final year of qualifying examination can also apply for AILET 2018.

AILET 2018 Application Procedure

The NLU will start selling the AILET 2018 application forms in the first week of January 2018 tentatively. Candidates willing to apply for AILET 2018 exam can visit the official website of the National Law University (NLU) i.e. www.nludelhi.ac.in.

Once the candidate visits the NLU website, s/he is required to click on ‘AILET 2018 Registration Link’.

As soon as the candidate clicks on the link, s/he will be redirected to the AILET 2018 Application Form portal.

The candidate should now enter all the required details mentioned in the online application form including Candidate’s Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, Photograph etc.

After filling up all the information in the approved manner, make the payment of the prescribed fee for AILET 2018.

Once the payment process is completed, the NLU will confirm your registration and will send you an email to the given email ID regarding the registration completion.

Candidate should note that the application forms for AILET 2018 will only be available online on the official website of NLU Delhi.
