The three-day AIMUN 2015 had a discussion on issues pertain to global concern


Three-day Amity International Model United Nations (AIMUN) Conference 2015 took place at Amity University campus. The AIMUN conference was very successful around 500 students of top leading schools of 9 countries including USA, Japan, Thailand, Germany, France, Italy, Slovenia, Australia and India had made their entrance and performed the role of diplomats and bureaucrats.

 The AIMUN conference had a discussion on the issues pertain to global concern, which includes:-

  • Operation Blue Star
  • Threat of ISIS
  • Militarization of the Arctic
  • Empowerment of Women through Education
  • Preservation of National Heritage
  • Status of Emerging Markets
  • Iran Hostage Crisis
  • Creation of Smaller States
  • Cooperative Federalism

Eminent personalities H.E. Laimonas TALAT-KELPSA, Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic ofLithuania, New Delhi and his wife- Ms. Alina Taluntye, Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and Dr. Gurinder Singh- Additional GroupVice Chancellor were presented at the Amity International Model United Nations (AIMUN) Conference.

The illustrious personalities were hospitable by the Ms. Divya Bhatia- Principal, Amity International School, Saket. On addressing conference, she said AIMUN 2015 has lived up to the promise of being bigger, better and ever blossoming.

Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan- Chairperson, AmityInternational Schools has shared her views and said that the global world needs responsible and effective leaders, who can take the decision in time and AIMUN 2015 aimed to foster such accountable leaders.

AIMUN had a debate on “Threat of ISIS ” in “Organization of Islamic Cooperation”, over 48 students acting  as Diplomats of various Islamic countries like Pakistan, Niger, Afghanistan, Iraq etc. touched upon various issues related to ISIS including “Foreign Involvement in the Expansion of ISIS”, “Protection and Treatment of civilians”,“ Sexual Violence perpetrated by ISIS”, “Funding of ISIS” and many more.

Over30 Indian Schools from Delhi/NCR, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan,Punjab, Maharashtra and Gujarat participated in AIMUN including Birla VidyaNiketan, Saket, British Co-ed Patiala, Chinar Public School, Alwar, G D GoenkaSchool, East Delhi, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, Sachdeva PublicSchool, Pitampura and others.

The winner were awarded by the H.E. Laimonas TALAT-KELPSA, Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic ofLithuania, New Delhi and his wife- Ms. Alina Taluntye

  • Best Delegation Awards” category, Amity International School, Sector-46 Gurgaon, representing Syria was given First Prize
  • DPS Mathura Road representing China was given Second Prize and Amity School
  • Saket representing Russian Federation was given Third prize
