AP-EAMCET 2016 Exam

The Andhra Pradesh- Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP-EAMCET) 2016 has been rescheduled. The exam will now be conducted on 29th April 2016.  The Andhra Pradesh State Higher Education Council took this decision in order to avoid any clash with other major national level entrance exams that will be conducted around the previously announced date.

AP-EAMCET was earlier scheduled to be conducted on 5th May 2016, as per the official website of AP-EAMCET Council. However, now it will be conducted on 29th April 2016. The registration process for AP EAMCET is expected to start from 6th March 2016.

AP-EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) is conducted by the Jawahar Lal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) for shortlisting candidates for admission into Engineering, Medical and Agricultural courses offered in colleges across the state of Andhra Pradesh.

It is assumed that the exam has been rescheduled to avoid clash with the Karnataka State Engineering Entrance Exam.

EAMCET was earlier conducted jointly for admitting students to colleges in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh till 2014. But, now it is conducted separately by both the states. However, the conducting body Jawahar Lal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada for both the exams (Telangana-EAMCET and AP- EAMCET) remains the same.

The eligibility criteria to appear for EAMCET is to complete 10+2 from a recognised board with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology and with minimum 45% aggregate marks for General or 40% aggregate marks for the reserved categories. The candidates appearing for their 10+2 final exams in 2016 can also apply.
