A few Indian Institutes of Management have commenced PI shortlisting process for the academic session 2017-19 admission. IIM Ahmedabad, Kozhikode and Bangalore have started the process. Candidates can check their status on the IIMA and IIMB websites by entering their CAT 2016 registration number/application number and registered email ID. The shortlisted candidates will also receive call letters for the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview round, which will ensure a seat in these campuses.
Admissions to IIMs are conducted in three phases that include CAT 2016, Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Other parameters that are considered for the final selection include past academic records, work experience and extracurricular activities. Diversity is one of the major factors that help in the final selection of the candidate.
Let us look at details of the three IIMs who have started their WAT and PI processes for the shortlisted candidates-
The WAT and PI rounds for selection in IIM Ahmedabad will be conducted in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Hyderabad. The shortlisted candidates will be informed of selection by post by the second week of January 2017. The list of selected candidates will be displayed on the official website of the respective campuses.
IIM Kozhikode has allotted 45 percent weightage to Personal interview and 15 percent weightage to writing ability test. Hence, candidates will be required to crack both the rounds to get admission in IIM Kozhikode. The interview letters and other details will be made available on the official website and candidates will be required to download the same. The candidates will be required to fill a personal profile form available on the website to be able to attend both the rounds.
IIM Bangalore has fixed CAT 2016 weightage at 40 percent while rest of the parameters sums up to 60 percent. IIMB has allotted 50 percent to the academic records, which is the first part of the selection process. However, the final selection process will be based on PI and GD/WAT rounds.
