The CAT exam basically aims at testing the aptitude and skills of the exam takers with respect to sections like Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, Logical & Analytical Reasoning and Data Interpretation. - Total 100 questions, which will be a mix of MCQ and non-MCQ.

- Duration of the exam is 3 hours, where 60 minutes each will be allotted for completing one section.
- Candidates will not be allowed to switch between the 3 sections.
- MCQ questions will carry 3 marks for correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Non-MCQs will carry no negative marking. However, 3 marks will be give for a correct answer.

CAT exam syllabus 2017 for Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DI-LR)
This section of CAT 2017 will comprise of questions where the exam takers will be required to quickly analyze the data and derive the solution.
