Factors Affecting CBSE 12 Result 2017

The average marks in Class 12 results in 2017 decreased due to Central Board of Secondary Education's decision to not to 'moderate' board's terms for inflating marks. Every year the board increases marks through moderation, which affects the results by around 6 to 10%. For instance, a student getting 77 marks in a subject may end up getting 93 marks in a certain subject through 'standardised' marks. This year, the board adopted a resolution at the meeting of school boards on April 24 and decided not to increase marks.

From 2015 onwards, the board started giving access to digital mark sheets to the students. Students can check their digital mark sheets saved in DigiLocker at the official website To get access to the mark sheets, students receive credentials through an SMS on their registered mobile number.
