CEED 2017, which is an acronym for Common Entrance Examination for Design, exam dates for the year 2017 has been announced. Conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) for admission to Master of Design (M.Des) programme, CEED exam is to be held on January 22, 2017 from 10 AM to 1 PM.

The Master of Design course is offered at the IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay. Whereas the PhD programme in the Design is offered at IISc Bangalore, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Bombay.

CEED 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The interested candidates who want to build a career in the field need to pass CEED 2017 exam. To be eligible to apply for the exam, candidates should meet any of the criteria mentioned below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Interior Design/Engineering/Design/ or equivalent four years programme after 12th    
  • Professional diploma in Design with NID/CEPT or equivalent of four years programme after12th
  •  B.F.A. four years professional programme after 12th
  • Masters degree in Computer Applications/Science/Arts which should be two years programme after graduation
  • G.D. (5 years programme after 10th) with one year post qualified professional experience. 

CEED 2017 Application Fee

CEED 2017 application fee for the general category candidates is INR 2200 and INR 1100 for SC/ST/PwD/ Women nationals. For all others, CEED 2017 exam fee will remain INR 2200. The application fee is non-refundable.

CEED 2017 Application Procedure

Candidates who want to apply for the CEED 2017 examination need to follow the procedure mentioned hereunder.

  • First of all, candidates need to register on the official website with a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • After registering, candidates will receive a link in their email id and login password on the registered mobile number.
  • Candidates need to log on to the website using the link and the password provided. By doing so, candidates will be able to download the application form.
  • Now the candidates need to fill in the application form with the details required.
  • Once the candidates submit the application form, they are advised to take the printout of the confirmation page, download, save and take a printout of the same for future reference. 

CEED 2017 Exam Pattern

CEED 2017 exam pattern will consist of two parts: Part A (Computer based) and Part B (Pen and paper based). CEED 2017 Part A is an online exam containing 50 questions in all that will be divided into three sections and candidates will get one hour to solve the paper. The objective questions will be followed by MCQ, MSQ And NAT. The first section will contain 5 questions, the second section will contain 10 questions and the third question will contain 35 questions in all. Every right answer will help candidates fetch 2 marks, whereas there will be a negative marking of 0.6 marks in the first and third section.

CEED 2017 exam B part paper will be a pen and paper based exam of two hours duration. This exam is intended to test the candidate’s skill in designing and drawing. Candidates have to answer this hand drawing test in the same booklet that s/he gets in the exam.

CEED 2017 Syllabus

There is no syllabus for CEED 2017 as such and the best way to ace this exam is to keep solving the previous year question papers. As the candidates will go on solving the question papers of CEED, they will have a better idea of what can be included in CEED 2017 syllabus and the exam. The main subjects and areas remain Creative Writing Skills, Communication Skills, Colour Theory, Drawing Abilities and Skill, Design Concept, Develop Character, Develop Logo, Light and Shadow, Perspective, Logical Reasoning, Product Designing, Interactive Design, Design Problem Solving, Scale & Proportion, Visual Communication, Representation Technique, Sketching, Poster, Storytelling, Interface Designing, Poser, Visual Perception, Basics of material and manufacturing techniques.

CEED 2017 Important Dates

The eligible and interested candidates who want to apply for the CEED 2017 exam should keep the following dates in mind.

  • Candidates will be able to apply online from 17 October 2016.
  • The last date to apply online for the CEET November 11, 2016.
  • Last date to apply for the CEED exam with late fee is between November 11 and November 18, 2016
  • Candidates will be able to access and download the admit cards between December 26 - January 21, 2017.
  • CEED 2017 exam will be conducted on January 22, 2017 from 10 am to 1 pm.
  • The result for CEED exam will be announced on March 10, 2016.

CEED 2017 Admit Cards

The examination authority will provide CEED 2017 admit cards online. Candidates will be able to access and download the admit cards between December 26 and January 21, 2017. The admit card will be an important document that candidates need to produce at the time of the exam, failing which they won’t be allowed to enter the exam hall.

CEED 2017 Result

Once the test is conducted successfully on January 22, 2017, the CEED 2017 exam authority will announce the results on the official website. The results for the CEED exam are are to be announced on March 10, 2017.
