CEED 2018, which is an acronym for Common Entrance Examination for Design, exam dates of which for the year 2018 have been announced. Conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) for admission to Master of Design (M.Des) programme, CEED exam is to be held on January 20, 2018, from 10 AM to 1 PM. The Master of Design course is offered at the IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay. Whereas the PhD programme in the Design is offered at IISc Bangalore, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Bombay. Online registration process for CEED 2018 will start from October 9, 2018, official notification of which has already been made on IIT Bombay website.

CEED 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates who want to build a career in the field of designing need to pass CEED 2018 exam. To be eligible to apply for the exam and get admission in IITs or IISc, candidates should meet CEED 2018 eligibility criteria mentioned below. Application forms of the candidates who don't meet eligibility criteria of CEED 2018 will be rejected. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Interior Design/Engineering/Design/ or equivalent four years programme after 12th    
  • Professional diploma in Design with NID/CEPT or equivalent of four years programme after12th
  •  B.F.A. four years professional programme after 12th
  • Masters degree in Computer Applications/Science/Arts which should be two years programme after graduation
  • G.D. (5 years programme after 10th) with one year post qualified professional experience. 

CEED 2018 Application Fee

CEED 2018 application fee for the general category candidates is INR 2200 and INR 1100 for SC/ST/PwD/ Women nationals. For all others, CEED 2018 application fee will remain INR 2200. The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Candidates applying for CEED 2018 exam can pay application fee through debit/ credit card or via net banking by using the available payment gateways.

CEED 2018 Application Procedure

CEED 2018 application process will be available online at IIT Bombay website. Candidates can visit the website and fill online application form by following the guidelines given in CEED 2018 information brochure. Candidates who want to fill CEED 2018 application form need to follow the procedure mentioned hereunder.

  • First of all, candidates need to register on the official website with a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • After registering, candidates will receive a link in their email id and login password on the registered mobile number.
  • Candidates need to log on to the website using the link and the password provided. By doing so, candidates will be able to download the application form.
  • Now the candidates need to fill in the application form with the details required.
  • Once the candidates submit the application form, they are advised to take the printout of the confirmation page, download, save and take a printout of the same for future reference. 

CEED 2018 Exam Pattern

Having knowledge of exam pattern helps candidates prepare well for the exam. When they know about the type of questions, time given to solve them and the marking system, they make an effective exam preparation plan. Candidates applying for CEED 2018 can check exam pattern below. 

CEED 2018 exam pattern will consist of two parts: Part A (Computer-based) and Part B (Pen and paper-based). CEED 2018 Part A is an online exam containing 50 questions in all, divided into three sections and candidates will get one hour to solve the paper. The objective questions will be followed by MCQ, MSQ And NAT. The first section will contain 5 questions, the second section will contain 10 questions and the third section will contain 35 questions in all. Every right answer will help candidates fetch 2 marks, whereas there will be a negative marking of 0.6 marks in the first and third section. 

CEED 2017 exam B part paper will be a pen and paper based exam of two hours duration. This exam is intended to test the candidate’s skill in designing and drawing. Candidates have to answer this hand drawing test in the same booklet that s/he gets in the exam and questions for them will be shown on their computer screens.

CEED 2017 Syllabus

There is no syllabus for CEED 2018 as such and the best way to ace this exam is to keep solving the previous year question papers. As the candidates will go on solving CEED question papers, they will have a better idea of what can be included in CEED 2018 syllabus and the exam. The main subjects and areas remain Creative Writing Skills, Communication Skills, Colour Theory, Drawing Abilities and Skill, Design Concept, Develop Character, Develop Logo, Light and Shadow, Perspective, Logical Reasoning, Product Designing, Interactive Design, Design Problem Solving, Scale & Proportion, Visual Communication, Representation Technique, Sketching, Poster, Storytelling, Interface Designing, Poser, Visual Perception, Basics of material and manufacturing techniques.

CEED 2018 Important Dates

The eligible and interested candidates who want to apply for the CEED 2018 exam should keep an eye on all the important events. They should mark CEED 2018 important dates on their calendar so that no event gets missed. 

  • Candidates will be able to apply online from 09 October 2017.
  • The last date to apply online for the CEET 2018 without late fees is November 10, 2017.
  • The last date to apply for the CEED exam with late fee is between November 11 and November 17, 2017
  • Candidates will be able to access and download the admit cards between December 25, 2017, onwards.
  • CEED 2018 exam will be conducted on January 20, 2018, from 10 am to 1 pm.
  • The result for CEED exam 2018 will be announced on March 05, 2018.

CEED 2018 Admit Cards

The examination authority will provide CEED 2018 admit cards online. Candidates will be able to access and download the admit cards after December 25, 2017. The admit card will be an important document that candidates need to produce at the time of the exam, failing which they won’t be allowed to enter the exam hall. No hard copy of the admit cards will be sent to the candidates, so make sure you check the website and download it from there by entering your login details created while registering for the exam. 

CEED 2018 Result

Once the test is conducted successfully on January 20, 2018, the CEED 2018 exam authority will announce the results on the official website. CEED 2018 result will be declared on March 05, 2018 following which the exam conducting body will also start releasing CEED 2018 scorecards. Candidates need to download their scorecards from the official website.

CEED 2018 Exam Centres

The CEED 2018 exam will be conducted at 20 examination centres across India. Candidates will have to choose 3 centres of their choice while filling CEED 2018 application form. However, the final CEED 2018 exam centre allotment will be done on the basis of availability of seats.
