The fact worth noticing here is that the CISCE has lowered the pass marks criteria for ICSE and ISC examinations by three and five percentage points respectively. The new criteria will be applicable from 2019. An ICSE class 10th student will now need just 33% to pass instead of the current 35 percent. Similarly, an ISC 12th class student will now need 35 percent to pass the exam instead of 40 percent. The move has been made for close uniformity with other central and state boards.

This information has been conveyed in a circular to schools to implement the pass marks criteria in their internal examinations as well as the academic year 2018-19 onwards. As per this circular, the pass percentage for class 9 and 10 will now be 33 percent and 35 percent for class 11 and 12th.
