The exam was revoked after Supreme Court directive to medical and dental private colleges for considering NEET 2016 scores to select candidates. However, this order did not apply for the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics tests also scheduled for 8th May.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)

Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) conducts National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to medical courses at under-graduate level throughout India. After being scrapped off by the Supreme Court due to opposition from several states, it was re-introduced on 28th April, 2016. NEET has replaced medical examinations like AIPMT and DUMET. There were 14 medical and 23 dental colleges participating in COMEDK that would now accept candidates based on NEET 2016 scores. More than 1.20 lakh candidates had applied for the medical/dental colleges under COMEDK.
