CSIR-UGC Test Official Notification Released

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Human resource Development Group will hold the joint CSIR-UGC test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship, tentatively on 18th June, 2017. A single MCQ examination will be held for the award of Junior Research Fellowships and for appointments of Lecturers.

Subjects of the CSIR-UGC Test

The test will be held in the following subjects, total carrying 200 marks:

·         Chemical Sciences

·         Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, Planetary Sciences

·         Life sciences

·         Mathematical Sciences

·         Physical Sciences

Educational Qualification

M. Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for General/OBC and 50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

Candidates with BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for General/OBC and 50% for SC/ST/PwD are also eligible to apply.

For Lectureship, candidates have to fulfill the criteria laid down by UGC.

Age Limit:

Junior research Fellowships (JRF) NET – Maximum 28th Years as on1st Jan 2017 with relaxation of of 5 Yrs for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC /PwD/Female Applicants.

Lectureship (LS) NET -  No Upper Age Limit

Examination Centres

CSIR-UGC Test will be held around 27 Centres, covering all major areas in India. A request for change in Centre will be entertained only on Merit basis and only if received before 20th April 2017. Also if enough no. of candidates does not opt for particular centre, that particular centre might be deleted from the list.  

How to Apply

1.       Examination Fees - Applicants need to deposit the Examination fee in any branch of the Indian Bank by paying the fee in cash through bank challan OR through RTGS/NEFT

2.       Apply Online – Candidates are required to download Bank challan Performa from the website (www.csirhrdg.res.in) and then deposit the fees in any branch of the Indian bank. To avail any fees concession, candidates have to submit proof of their certificates.  

Points to Remember:

1.       Test will be printed in only 2 versions: Hindi and English

2.       A candidate can not submit more than one application form.

3.       Candidates have to submit hard copy of their online application form in the envelope mentioning following information on top of it: subject code, centre code, medium code and application no.
