CUJ Conducts Workshop on Census Data

Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) conducted a workshop on January 28, 2016 on census data.

To spread awareness among the students about the census report of 2011 of Jharkhand, Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) had conducted a workshop on January 28, 2016.
The workshop was being conducted by Census Department of Jharkhand in collaboration with the Centre for Mass Communication and witnessed participation of around 100 media and management students, research scholars, employees, teachers of Central University of Jharkhand.
The inauguration of the workshop kick-started with the felicitation of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Nand Kishore Yadav ‘Indu’ by the Deputy Director Shri Priyatosh Amishth of Census department of Jharkhand and lighting of the lamp.
By emphasising on the use of census data in research and development process, Prof. Nand Kumar Yadav said, ‘now-a-days private companies also use census data which is collected by the census department’.
Deputy Director Mr. Priyatosh Amishth gave a presentation on census data of Jharkhand to the gathering. A 14-minute documentary on the Census of India was also screened.
This workshop also highlighted the importance of census report for the research work and other academic purposes.
