Cultural Dance Heritage was organised at Mahagami Gurukul, Aurangabad on September 23 and 24, 2015
MAHAGAMI GURUKUL has earned a following not just in India but in other countries too. Every year, groups from different countries come to Aurangabad to get “CULTURAL EXPERIENCE “at MAHAGAMI and a brief introduction of Indian Dance Heritage. On September 23, 2015 and September 24, 2015, a team of 32 students and teacher from Japan have come to MAHAGAMI for one such experience.
On September 23, 2015, the Japanese seekers where given a rich exposure of Kathak through an enthralling performance by MAHAGAMI artists-disciples of Guru Parwati Dutta. This was followed by an involved informative talk by Parwati Dutta on the Indian Dance tradition and symbolism and gestures of the codified dances. Parwati Dutta conducted an instructional training session for the Japanese students when they were given introductory lessons in Kathak.
The Japanese students responded to the session with lot of enthusiasm and felt enriched and elated on knowing about the Indian tradition. Such exposures and experiences are regular feature at MAHAGAMI where there is a frequent inflow of foreign visitors who are keen to know about Indian Cultural Heritage. The Japanese team will get an insightful exposure to the Indian visual arts on 24th at MAHAGAMI.
