The Contact Point for Foreign Students’ Admissions 2017

For Delhi University admission foreign students must directly contact FSR or Foreign Students’ Registry Office, which is the single window for all admission procedures. Foreign students can visit the office at the Conference Centre, University of Delhi. The office remains open from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. IST, and then from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. IST (Mon-Fri). The University will not admit students on Tourist Visa or X-Visa.

It is mandatory for foreign students to have the English proficiency certificate of IELTS (minimum 6 band) or TOEFL (minimum 70) scores to apply for a course at DU. Else, they will need to go for a university-conducted English proficiency course.

Foreign students must procure an equivalence of their school/degree certificate from AIU (Association of Indian Universities) before applying to DU.

4.

Foreign students must get a medical insurance policy with evacuation clause for admission in any DU course.

Admission Procedure and Guidelines for Foreign Students in DU for 2017

As regards the Delhi University admission foreign students will seek admission via the Foreign Students’ Registry office. Please note that NRIs are not considered foreign nationals.

Application Submission:

Foreign students seeking admission to any DU programme or college should fill in and submit their applications online after registering on the official admissions website. They need to submit a common registration form for all the desired programmes like other applicants do. However, they should ensure their eligibility for a programme before applying for Delhi University admission foreign students.

Application Copy Submission:

After submitting the online application, foreign students should get its copy attested from the embassy or official stated on the form. They need to upload this attested copy online for final submission. The hard copy of the application must be sent or personally submitted with the required documents at the Office of Foreign Students’ Registry. After paying the registration fee, foreign students are allotted the college or department of study and given admission letters. They need to take these admission letters to the allotted college/department to complete final admission formalities.

Important Dates of Application in DU for 2017

For Delhi University admission foreign students in the academic session 2017-18, candidates can now submit their online applications until the university’s extended deadline, which is May 31, 2017. Except for MBA, this deadline is applicable to all undergraduate, post-graduate, M.Phil, certificate, diploma, and advanced diploma programmes. The last date of application submission for children/dependents of diplomats serving in India is June 16, 2017.
