DU Courses at Undergraduate Level in 2017

There are a wide variety of DU undergraduate courses on offer. While the admission in some of these courses is done through merit, the admission in other courses is based on an entrance exam and/or interview and group discussion. As you can notice, the DU undergraduate courses on offer include programmes for students from all academic streams. However, there are certain courses like B.A. (Pass) and B.A. (Honours), as well as education and fine arts courses that students from all streams can do. Please note that the LLB or law programme is a Bachelors-level programme. However, it is available after graduation and not after doing 10+2. On the other hand, the B.Sc. programmes have a mix of subjects, some of which are available for science students with PCM subjects and others for science students with PCB subjects.

Admission in DU Undergraduate Programmes

Most of the DU undergraduate courses on offer have merit-based admission (application procedure starting May 22, 2017). However, the following courses will need you to appear for an entrance exam (application procedure starting May 31, 2017):

Admission in DU Postgraduate Programmes in 2017

Out of all DU postgraduate courses on offer, a few require the graduate students to appear in an entrance exam for admission purposes. While the exam for most courses is held to select outside-DU candidates, there is also merit-based admission in the same courses. However, the merit-based admission option is only available for students who have completed their graduation from Delhi University. The process of application for postgraduate programmes starts on May 31, 2017.

There are several DU postgraduate courses on offer in a variety of subjects. You can find most of the subjects at undergraduate level also available at the postgraduate level, in addition to various sub-specialisations. Candidates can check the availability of specialised subjects in their domain before applying for an M.A., M.Com, or M.Sc. course. Some of these subject specialisations also demand every graduate to appear in an entrance exam before seeking admission. These include courses like M.A. English and LL.M.

PhD and M. Phil Courses at DU

Several DU faculties or departments offer higher education at M. Phil and PhD levels. If you want to pursue any of these courses in your study area, then you may check with the concerned department as to whether they offer M. Phil, PhD, or both the courses in your domain. The application procedure starts on May 31, 2017.

Other Courses Available at DU

Apart from DU undergraduate courses on offer or DU postgraduate courses on offer, you can go for many certificate courses, diplomas, and advanced diplomas at DU. Many of these programmes are career-oriented.
