Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) conducts a 4-Day Digital Marketing Workshop.

 

Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC), Kolkata conducted 4-day Digital Marketing Workshop for all departments from September 22, 2015 to September 25, 2015; Mr. Pramod Maloo was invited as the guest faculty.

A troop of around 130 students including 90 students from Commerce plus Diploma Programme attended the workshop. On the very first day of the induction programme, Mr. Maloo gave an overview of different aspects of Digital marketing namely, e-commerce, search engine optimisation, market place, social media marketing etc. He briefed about how digital marketing is different from traditional form of marketing.

The second day consisted of lecture on briefing about the Search Engine Optimisation, and explanations on ‘Links’ and ‘Back Links’ were given. He later threw light on ‘Ad Words’ and its three part viz. ‘Ad Copy’, ‘Key Word’ and ‘Bid Management’. He briefed about the concepts of relevance of these in context with the Ad Campaign, also he described the ‘Pay per click’, Paid Ads and Organic Sites concepts.

 

Day 3 was all about the discussion on ‘Importance of search engine optimisation’. He elucidated how to advertise the website on Google through Adwords along with explanations on the objectives of using Adwords.

  • Informing people about availability of the products or services they are looking for
  • Reach to people at right place, at right time
  • Secure top position of the Google search

Day 4 was about elucidating the importance of social media marketing namely, popular with mass, higher rate of interaction, two-way communication, and easy management and cost effective.

 

 

The guest faculty, Mr. Maloo taught the students how to create a Facebook page. He showed how a website is registered. The newly created page started its advertising campaign, after discussing its main objective i.e., to increase page likes. Filtering was done so that the ad reaches to the right people. The workshop was concluded after interesting Q&A session and presentation of college memento to Mr. Maloo by Dean of the college, Mr. Dilip Shah and the professor coordinator Prof. Vijay Kothari.
