DU BA, BA (Hons) Admission 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Those who are want to know about DU BA, BA (Hons) Admission 2018 eligibility criteria can check the same in the following lines. 

  • The candidates who have qualified 10+2 (12th examination) or equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% of marks are eligible to apply.
  • There is no minimum age bar for admission to the undergraduate courses in Delhi University (DU) and its colleges.

*In professional courses, regulatory body prescribes minimum age requirement (such as MCI, AICTE etc.)

DU BA, BA (Hons) Admission 2018 Criteria 

  • The candidates who have qualified 10+2 (12th examination) or equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% of marks are eligible to apply for DU BA, BA (Hons) Admission 2018.
  • Admission will be based on the merit list.
  • All courses/programmes which have entrance examination will be based on the candidate’s score in the examination.
  • For Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Business Economics, qualified candidates have to go through Group Discussion/Personal Interview (PI) or both, as per the number of candidates.
  • The category certificate (OBC non-creamy layer/SC/ST/PWD/CW), in the name of the candidate, must be produced on the day of the interview and group discussion.

The weightage of the entrance examination, interview and group discussion (GD) for DU BA, BA (Hons) Admission 2018 are as follows:-

  •  85% for the Entrance test
  •  15% for the GD and Interview

The merit shall be determined on the basis of one language and three best elective subjects

B.A. (Hons.) Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Punjabi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bengali

An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination. Candidates securing 40% marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in the subject concerned are also eligible for admission to the relevant Honours Course.

The merit shall be determined on the basis of one language and three best elective subjects.

Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board with at least 40% marks in the aggregate and also one of the following examinations given below on the left shall be eligible for admission to the respective subject of the Honours Course given below:

DU BA, BA (Hons) Admission 2018 Documents Required 

Candidate should carry following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies during DU BA, BA (Hons) Admission 2018.

  • Class X Board Examination Certificate
  • Class X Mark sheet
  • Class XII Marks sheet
  • Class XII Provisional Certificate / Original Certificate
  • Character Certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST/PWD/CW/KM Certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (in the name of the Candidate) issued by a competent authority
  • Transfer Certificate from school/college as well as Migration Certificate from Board/University is required from those students who have passed the senior secondary exam from outside Delhi.
  • At least two passport size self-attested photographs.
