University of Delhi’s online admission process for academic session 2015-16 kicked off smoothly. Get some insights!
A total of 37,850 candidates registered themselves when the Delhi University (DU) opened its online admission process on 28th May, 2015.
The number of online registrations this year is higher as compared to 2014 when only 2,345 aspirants had registered and also 2013 when around 7,385 registered themselves for admission.
This year, DU started the online registration process early to encourage students to fill their forms online. The online admission process started on 28 May, 2015 and it will continue till 15th June, 2015.
Meanwhile, the university had mentioned that the offline admission process will commence on June 5, 2015. Despite this information, many aspirants lined up early outside colleges in the hope of availing offline admission forms or registering themselves.
“Since morning, many students and parents have come to us asking for forms. We had to tell them that we have only opened online registration and there is still time for the forms to come out,” said Saurav Kumar from the administrative team of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College (SGTB), which one of the eight offline registration centres.
As many as 54,000 seats in 63 colleges affiliated to DU are up for grabs for the academic session 2015-16. While application forms are centralised for 61 colleges, minority colleges St. Stephen's and Jesus and Mary have independent admission processes.
Forms are available online at www.du.ac.in for Rs. 100. Candidates can make payment by credit and debit cards.
