Candidates who've been waiting anxiously for Delhi University's first cut-off list for 2016 should note down that the list is expected to be announced by June 30, 2016.
The first cut-off list for admission in Delhi University (DU) will be announced on June 30, 2016 by 9 am.
As soon as the first cut-off list is declared, candidates (who meet the cut-off) would be required to get their documents verified and then complete the admission process latest by 1 pm on July 2, 2016.
The application process this year was scheduled to close on 19th June but the deadline was extended to 22nd June, 2016.
This year, around 50 % of applicants for Delhi University’s undergraduate programmes belong to the Capital city, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Also for the first time, the University has witnessed a dip in the number of applications for undergraduate courses.
The University has received a total of 2,50,914 applications for the 54,000 seats in 63 colleges this year. Last year, the number of applications had gone up to 2,91,819.
A total of 2,50,220 applicants completed the online registration process, including payment of registration fee on June 22 by 5 pm.
According to students and teachers, the reason behind the dip in the number of applications could be attributed to the online admission process.
Till last year, applicants had the option of filling the forms offline along with the option of filling application forms online.
According to some college principals, the high cost of living in the Capital might be another reason that would’ve discouraged outstation students from applying to Delhi University.
