DU Admission 2018 – To all those students who are eagerly waiting for DU Admission to begin this year, we’d like to update that the admission process for DU Undergraduate courses is to start from 5 PM today, May 15, 2018. Therefore, candidates who want to apply for any of the courses under Delhi University can start their DU admission application process from today onwards

We all know DU Admissions 2018 are one of the most coveted among students of all streams, from all over Delhi and from India for that matter. Everyone wants to clinch a seat in a college and course of their preference but it is not that easy, mind you. The University of Delhi, commonly known as DU, is among the top-notch universities of the country. Every year, lakhs of students try their luck to secure a seat in their preferred college and course. Since the CBSE is going to release Class 12th Results soon, the varsity has also started DU Admissions this year from May 15, 2018 from 5 PM onwards for the undergraduate courses.

DU Admissions 2018: Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses

For students who are looking for the admission to any of the DU courses need to meet specific DU Admissions 2018 eligibility criteria. To know about the DU Admission criteria for 2018, check hereunder.

The candidates should have necessarily have cleared 10+2 exam or the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination with minimum marks specified for each program.

The candidates who are eying a seat in a college and course of their likings should be above 18 years of age and be a citizen of India. NRIs and students of foreign countries have to follow a separate admission process.

The eligibility criteria are the same for all the colleges under the central university except St. Stephen’s and Jesus and Mary College.

Delhi University Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses

The basic eligibility to pursue PG courses in the University of Delhi is to complete a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. However, the applicant is required to have a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field in which s/he wants to do Masters.

Other than medical and law courses, which are conducted by the Medical Council of India, Bar Council of India respectively, there is no minimum age limit to apply for postgraduate courses in Delhi University.

During DU Admissions 2018 process last year, the application fee for the candidates belonging to General and OBC categories was INR 150, for SC/ST/PwD candidates it is 75. For those who applied for the sports and ECA category had to pay INR 100.

How to Apply for DU Admissions 2018

For the candidates and to make their DU Admissions 2018 process easy, we are mentioning the easy steps hereunder. Candidates can consider following these to save time and efforts on their DU Admission process.  

  • Candidates applying for DU Admissions this year are required to visit the official website of the University of Delhi i.e. www.du.ac.in.
  • Once redirected to the UG admission portal, the student will need to select the course and/or college seats of his/ her choice.
  • The applicant will need to sign up to the portal using their Email ID and phone number.
  • After submitting all the required information, the applicant should complete the registration by depositing the application fee.

Note: Students applying for DU Admissions 2018 based on the ECA and Sports Quota will need to apply online as well. Students must register their valid Email ID and phone number, as it will be the mode of communication with the university thereafter.

Documents Required to Apply for DU Admissions 2018

Here is the list of documents that candidates who aim to apply for DU Admissions 2018 need to keep handy to fill the DU application form.

  • Students are required to have their recent passport size photographs and the scanned copy of their signature.
  • Applicants must have a self-attested copy of Class 10 Board Certificate as a proof of date of birth.
  • Applicants must also have a self-attested copy of Class 12 mark-sheet. (If the Class 12th result has not been announced, candidates are required to download their mark-sheet from the official website of the board and upload it after self-attesting.
  • In the case of the student belonging to reserved category, s/he should self-attest a copy of his/ her SC/ST/OBC/PwD/KM/CW Certificate.
  • If the student belongs to the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category, s/he is required to upload the self-attested copy of the income certificate.
  • Students applying through Sports Quota or Extra Curricular Activities are required to upload a self-attested copy of their Sports Certificate(s) for last three years and Extra Curricular Activities Certificate(s) respectively.

As per the information available as of now, students will get 24 days to complete their DU Admissions 2018. We suppose this much of time is enough for students to get a fair chance to eye for a course and college of their choice. We are saying this thing as results for some of the state exam boards hasn’t been announced as of now. Particular, CBSE 10th Result 2018 and CBSE 12th Results 2018 haven’t been announced and rumoured to be announced May 28, 2018. As per the confirmation by the DU senior DU official, candidates will be able to edit their DU admission application forms 2018 until they deposit/make online fee payment.

Information for Students Waiting for 12th Results

For students belonging to various boards who have not yet announced 12th results so far can fill their DU Admissions 2018 once their results are out. Candidates will get the text message confirming their registration. The right measures have been taken to avoid multiple registrations.

Ever since DU admissions started online in 2016, the online portal of the university had the different portals for the merit-based and entrance based admission to undergraduate students. However, this year onward, DU will have a single portal for the both. There will be two tabs on the single portal and students can register for both or a single one. Students have to make a separate payment for the application forms.

DU Admission 2018 Other Important Details

Students applying for DU Admissions 2018 under sports quota will be able to upload their three best certificates – need to be uploaded as separate documents – now instead of one as was the restriction earlier.  

Candidates can visit the university and are advised to attend ‘Open Days’ to get any information related to DU Admissions 2018. The university will hold open Days from May 21 to May 29, 2018 during which senior professionals will brief students about DU admission and things related to it. The ‘Open Days’ will have two sessions – from 10 AM to 11:30 AM and from 12 PM to 1:30 Pm.

DU Admissions 2018 For PG and Research Courses

DU Admissions 2018 for the postgraduate and research courses will commence from May 18 and May 20, 2018 respectively. The fact worth mentioning here is that all the DU admission process for UG, PG and research courses and categories will be conducted online only. No DU admission application forms will be sold in print or any of the offline modes whatsoever.
