Two-day summit organized by Educomp Foundation concludes with a plethora of views and ideas on re-shaping education for the next decade: ideas and conversations to be documented as a dossier on top line thinking in the sector

The Education Leaders Summit 2015 which concluded after two days of intensive sessions has delivered on its promise with scores of creative ideas and solutions to the challenges of education in India.

Organised by Educomp Foundation, the CSR division of Educomp Solutions Ltd, India’s largest education company, the two-day education summit brought education thought leaders to New Delhi to discuss and consolidate the best ideas in education delivery, content and pedagogy practices.  Over panel discussions and interactive sessions that drew over 350 educationists from across the country, the sessions produced a tome of informative interactions, views and counter views that are now being collated as a document for reference and indicators of the most avant garde thinking on the education sector in this decade.

The summit which was designed around a series of moderated sessions explored issues such as future trends in education; regulatory regimes and their impact; managing schools successfully; new pedagogical approaches to learning; the potential and the threat of the internet and other such key subjects that face the industry today.

The ‘Education Leaders Summit 2015’ was a first-ever event of this kind and scale, developed around the need for a common interface between all stakeholders in the education industry. Principals, school management, government and bureaucracy, private enterprise, content developers and managers participated in this two day event which showcased top line thinking in the industry.

The event was inaugurated by Gen. V.K. Singh, Hon’ble MoS (Independent Charge) for Statistics and Programme Implementation, MoS for External Affairs and MoS for Overseas Indian Affairs who was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Gen. V.K. Singh said “We have a large population and we should educate all to contribute to nation building. By educating a child we are creating a wholesome personality that contributes greatly to both society and community. A good education system develops the mind of a child towards progress, nationalism and social development. Children must be allowed to think, analyse, debate, react and come up with their own conclusion”.

He further said, I have never seen so many educators under one roof before and am happy that Educomp Foundation has taken the initiative to bring all stakeholders of education together to discuss issues of such national importance.”

The inaugural session of the Education Leader’s Summit saw an animated discussion among a group of  young MPs that included Mr. Jitin Prasada- Ex MoS MHRD, Mr. Neeraj Shekhar MP Rajya Sabha, Mr. Anurag Thakur- MP Lok Sabha, Mr. Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo- MP Lok Sabha and Mr. Dushyant Chautala-MP Lok Sabha. Shantanu Prakash, CMD of Educomp moderated this session and got each one to share what their key priorities would be if they became the next HRD Minister.

Mr Syed Asif Ibrahim, Special Envoy to the PM on Internal Security & Counter Terrorism and Dr. Subhash Chandra Khuntia, Secretary Education, MHRD both delivered keynote addresses at the Summit. While Mr. Ibrahim spoke, on 'Grey in Digital Age- Perspective on bringing up children in New India’, Mr. Khuntia spoke before the special panel discussion on ‘Navigating the Regulatory Paradigm, Policies and Processes’.

Concluding the event, Mr Shantanu Prakash, Trustee, Educomp Foundation said, “The Education Leaders Summit 2015” is a landmark event for educationists in India.
