AICTE News

The AICTE has restored the recognition of technical and engineering degrees attained from Institution of Engineers (India) and other professional bodies till May 2013. The degrees will now be valid for “all purposes” such as employment in the Government sector and admission to higher studies.

Around 05 years ago, the recognition of these professional bodies has been cancelled by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD).

The decision was taken during a recent emergency meeting.

A senior AICTE official said, “All those students who were enrolled with these institutions with permanent recognition up to May 31, 2013, stand recognized.”

The official added, “After reviewing the issue, a decision was taken to recognise equivalence for all purposes, including higher education and employment, to the technical courses conducted by the professional bodies and institutions which were duly recognised by HRD ministry with permanent recognition up to May 31, 2013.”

This a good news for the students who have attained the technical degrees from these Institutes before May 2013. Now, the students can apply for the jobs.
