DU Admission, DU Sports Quota, Exotic Sports

We all know that DU admission process is a hectic and taxing chore, while securing a seat in a college and course of your choice is a hard nut to crack. Sometimes, being good in academics isn’t just enough to secure a seat. One easy way out to bag a seat in Delhi University is to be good in Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (ECA).

However, those of you out there who think that to be exceptionally good in cricket, tennis, weightlifting, tennis, basketball or any sports we normally play/know about is enough for securing DU admission through ECA and Sports quota, think again. There are other sports too that can help you land in any college under Delhi University.

Well, those of you who aren’t familiar know that other than conventional sports mentioned above, DU also reserves seats under sports quota for exotic sports like Water Polo, Fencing, Sword Fighting, Kayaking and Canoeing. Talking about canoeing wherein a single blade paddle propels the boat while one peddles in a kneeling position and a light decked craft is paddled in the seating position and propelled with a double blade paddle in kayaking.

The best part is university reserves more than 5 percent of the total number of seats in each of its course under quota for extracurricular and sports. The sports quota under Delhi University has more than 43 categories wherein students can apply for trails.

Students need to submit sports certificates as an attestation that they have played a particular sport at the school level. In addition to this, students applying under sports quota need to indicate their preferences while applying under the centralised admission process at Delhi University.
