Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International University stated its new session from July 11, 2016.
Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International University conducted a five-day programme to make the new comers familiar with the MRIU environments. As the faculty has recently started its new academic session 2016-17 from July 11, 2016 the overall involvement of the students is quite necessary. Various activities were planned for students that aim to prepare them for the challenges in career and rapidly changing world.
Senior functionaries Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, Dr. M.K. Soni, Executive Director and Dean, FET, Dr. Naresh Grover, Dean Academics, Registrar, Dean Student Welfare, Associate Director and HODs graced the event along with the class Mentors, newly admitted students and their parents.
First day kick started by paying tribute to the founder visionary Dr. OP Bhalla and seeking the blessings of the almighty by performing a Hawan ceremony followed by a tree plantation drive under UGC campaigning of ‘One student, One tree’.
In the next session, Dr. Pradeep. K.Varshney Associate Director, FET, MRIU gave a brief of whole program and also discussed the significance of hawan and tree plantation. Senior functionaries of the University addressed the students and motivated them.
Dr. Naresh Grover, Dean Academics, MRIU congratulated the students for being a part of the Manav Rachna Family and shared useful information with students regarding academic aspects of transition from school to the University. Dr. M.K. Soni, Executive Director & Dean, FET, MRIU in his motivational address said that success is ethnicity in MR and University has commitment of providing quality education. He has also shared that we as a University have many knowledge partners like IBM, JBM, SU-KAM etc. with a mission to make University globally competitive in terms of knowledge, academic resources and academic processes.Dr. Soni specifically mentioned to all parents for continuous monitoring of their wards.
Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU by addressing the students discussed the importance of dedication, discipline and hard work in student’s life for successful career. In his speech, he also assured the students that MRIU is a ragging free campus where students should feel free to lead his academic career. If anyone indulges in committing so, strict punishment is given. He also admitted that MRIU has expericed and qualified faculties who diligently work hard for the betterment of the students.
At the end session, Dr. Varshney introduced senior functionaries of MRIU and key persons of Faculty of Engineering and Technology. After the session, lunch was provided to all students and parents followed by a campus round. The activities that were planned for next four days included departmental lab visits, knowledge hunt, talent hunt, sports activities, holistic wellness and TCS-Commune training, psychometric test and interaction with CDC team, technical talks, lecture on health and nutrition etc.
