GATE 2017: All You Need To Know

GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering is a national-level examination held by various centrally-funded Indian institutions for admissions to postgraduate programs in higher educational institutions in India. The examination tests complete understanding of various undergraduate subjects in science and engineering.

GATE is jointly conducted by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Roorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Kanpur, Delhi and Bombay) and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.  The GATE score reflects a relative performance level of a candidate in a particular subject in the examination. The score is also considered by several Public and Private Sector Undertakings for employment and job prospects in India.

IIT Roorkee is the conducting body for GATE 2017. It is responsible for the end-to-end process and operations of the examination. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 4-5, 2017, and February 11-12, 2017. It will be a computer-based examination and will be a three-hour long paper.  Candidates will be tested in the engineering subject knowledge as well as Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude skills.
