GATE 2018-  IIT Guwahati has started the The registration of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) has been started online on 31 August 2017. The online examination is scheduled to be held on February 03, 04, 10 & 11, 2018 (Saturdays & Sundays). Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is one of the most sought after entrance examination to pursue post-graduation in engineering disciplines. It is a national level entrance exam to offer admissions into M.Tech./Ph.D. courses in IITs , IISc, IISERs and other reputed institutions. GATE Exam 2018 will be conducted for 23 subjects. Only eligible candidates will be able to fill the form. It is recommended to submit the online form before the deadline as late application forms will not be accepted in any situation.

GATE 2018 Eligibility for International Candidates

Age limit- There is no age limit to apply for GATE 2018.

Educational Qualification- Candidates from Bangladesh, Nepal, Ethiopia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka who have completed their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Post-graduate (M.Sc.) degree in any relevant science subject or who are in their final year of Bachelor’s degree/ Post-graduate degree can apply for the Exam.

GATE 2018 Application Form

Only online application forms will be accepted by the organizing authority. GATE 2018 Application form will be issued on the official website of GATE on 31 August 2017. The entire process of submitting application form including uploading of certificates/documents, submitting personal details should be done online either through IIT Guwahati or any of the IIT’s zonal GATE office. Candidates are advised to positively fill the application form before the conclusion of the last date, 05 October 2017.

It is also recommended to check all the details carefully because after filling the online application form, no modification will be permitted.

Steps to fill online Application Form

To fill the online registration form, follow the below steps-

Step-1- Visit the official website of GATE 2018, www.gate.iitg.ac.in

Step-2- Access the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) Website link

Step-3- Register yourself as “New User” by entering user name and password.

Step-4- Fill all the personal and qualification details such as Name, Father’s Name, Contact Details, Marital Status, Aggregate marks attained in graduation and more

Step-5- Upload the required documents such as scanned image of signature, thumb impression and graduate marksheet/ certificate

Keep the log-in details safe as you will need the same at the time of downloading admit card and accessing result.

GATE 2018 Exam Pattern

The GATE examination shall be of 3 hours duration with a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper for GATE 2018 will consist of questions of both multiple-choice type and numerical answer type. For multiple choice type questions, candidates have to choose the answer from the given choices. For numerical answer type questions, candidates have to enter a number as the answer using a virtual keypad.

GATE 2018 Admit Card

The admit card of GATE will be uploaded online on the GOAPS website tentatively in the month of January 2018. Candidates have to bring a copy of admit card along with an identity proof to the test centre. Also, note that no candidate will be permitted to enter the exam hall after 30 minutes of the start of the exam.

You can bring any of the listed ID proof-

Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, Valid College ID, Employee identification card or Driving License

GATE 2018 Result

The result of GATE 2018 will be announced online in the month of March 2018. Candidates need to log in through GOAPs in order to check their result. Qualified candidates can download their score card. Keep the scorecard safe till the completion of admission process.

GATE 2018 Answer Keys

After the conclusion of exam, a few institutes like Made Easy, GATEForum, The GATE Academy release the provisional GATE Answer Key 2018 for the aspirants. The answer keys contain the correct answers of all questions that will be asked in the examination. Experts will solve the asked question and release the answers in form of GATE answer keys. Candidates can calculate their estimated scores with the help of these answer keys. The official GATE 2018 Answer keys and candidates responses will also be issued on the official website of GOAPS in the month of March 2017.
