REAP and RPET open doors for engineering aspirants aiming at universities in Rajasthan

Rajasthan Technical University (RTU):

The affiliated colleges of this university offer UG/PG/Doctorate degrees in engineering and management fields. A chunk of colleges under the affiliation of RTU offers admission through Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) and Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process (REAP).

Both RPET and REAP are conducted by the Board of Technical Education-BTER of Jodhpur for admissions to undergraduate engineering programmes in different disciplines of Engineering (B. Tech. / B.E.) and architecture courses at Engineering institutes in Rajasthan.

*Though some of the education websites indicate that RPET (exam) might be replaced by REAP (admission process which accepts JEE Mains scores), but, the official website of RTU does not give significant information on this replacement, as yet.

It is conducted on behalf of government aided and private unaided technical institutions of Rajasthan (except BITS Pilani, MNIT Jaipur). As per a national daily and the new admission system introduced by State Government, 50 per cent seats in engineering colleges of the State will be filled through JEE Main 2016. Allotment of remaining 50 per cent seats will be based on the Class XII merit list. Aspirants will have the choice of opting either JEE Main or class 12 as their selection channel, as separate merit lists will be prepared by the board.
