For the 9th year in a row the Bookaroo Festival continues the celebration of children’s books, storytelling and reading.

Goethe Institute is delighted to announce that Bookaroo is back again with the 9th edition of its Bookaroo Festival of Children’s Literature on November 26 and 27, 2016.

For the 9th year in a row the Bookaroo Festival continues the celebration of children’s books, storytelling and reading. It will bring together children, authors, illustrators and books under one roof for two exciting days.

The sessions and programs will come alive in the grand open spaces of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts) on Janpath. Speakers from all over the world - and India will celebrate the joy of books and literature amongst them the German e-chess expert Frederic Friedel.

An intensive workshop has also been scheduled on November 26, 2016 under the guidance of Frederic Friedel on the topic ‘the Great Chess Adventure’ for kids aged 8-10. Use your wits, learn to think ahead, have fun AND learn a lot about chess, the game invented over 1500 years ago in northern India, as you ride in bumper cars or on Ferris wheels.

Frederic Friedel started off as a scientific journalist for German television, but in 1986 he co-founded a software company that changed the chess world
