Guest Session of Mr. C.M. Attri at JIM, Indore

Mr. C.M. Attri, General Manager at Tata Steel, Indore visited the campus of JIM, Indore

To share the experience working with Tata Group since 1993, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore had Mr. C.M. Attri, General Manager at Tata Steel, Indore. Mr. Attri has immense working experience with Tata Group at different geographical locations. Mr. Attri had guided the student on the Business Development of Indian Steel and Wire Products Ltd. (ISWP). This interaction was coordinated by Prof. Romi Sainy and Prof. Rekha Attri.
 
 
 
 
 
The session started with a video showcasing the working style of Tata Group including its mission and vision towards personal and the nation and the lyrics was given by Mr. Javed Akhtar who is a poet, lyricist and scriptwriter. Mr. Attri told that the Tata Steel and Tata Motors are Flag-ship companies of the Tata Group.
As the session was on the business development plan, so Mr. Attri discussed about the ISWP Business Verticals with the students. He also had a case study on the fasteners of the ISWP which had all the working strategies, sub strategies, road maps, and key trends in the market for the students understanding. He also shared that how the past performance analysis is important for the business.
 
 
 
 
 
Further, session continued with the motivational stories in account to motivate the students. He quoted that “never to lose hope in oneself. If there are 10 doors and 9 are closed then, you will definitely find 1 door which is always open for you.” He connected this statement with a real happening with him, when he visited the clients for ISWP to different companies with a hope to get the order but could not find and when he meet with Mr. Brajesh of Kalpataru he thought that the meeting would last for just 5 minutes but because of the connect which Mr. Attri could build with the client and engage him in fruitful conversation Mr. Brajesh happily spent 4 hours with Mr. Attri. Mr. Attri’s convincing skills finally helped him get an order of 1000 tonnes from the company. Thus it was emphasized that networking, relationship building and a never give in attitude always helps in exploring new territories and developing the business.
 
The session came to the closure with an open interaction with the students and solving their queries. Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Romi Sainy. The session was a great learning for the students.
