Hindu College Gears Up for Mecca, the Cultural Fest

Hindu college is presenting Mecca 2016 with exciting events and competitions lined up for February 24 to 26, 2016.

Mecca 2016
Hindu College, University of Delhi is conducting its annual fest Mecca-2016 from February 24 to 26, 2016. This three-day long extravaganza will showcase a range of events and competitions which will engage the entire DU community.
 
The various mindboggling events of Mecca are at a glance 
 
 
Panache – The Fashion Show
 
Date: 25 February, 2016 
Venue: Hindu College auditorium
Time: 12 p.m. onwards
 
Rules:
 
  • A Team perform may perform on a theme as per their choice.
  • Time limit is 12-15 minutes, exceeding which shall lead to negative marking.
  • The team must report the venue at least two hours before the scheduled time of the event.
  • A virtual preliminary round will be conducted for which all the teams registering are required to send a video of their show at sharma.khushi1609@gmail.com  based on which teams will be shortlisted. 
 
Tamasha – Nukkad Natak
 
  • Date: 25 February, 2016
  • Venue: Ibtida Lawns
  • Time: 12:30 PM
 
Rules:
 
  • Time Limit – 20 minutes
  • No team limit
  • Poetry Slam
  • Date: 26 February, 2016
  • Venue: Thadani Room
  • Time: 11 a.m. Onwards
Rules:
 
Each poem must be original.
Poems should be strictly related to the given theme.
Each performance should be within a 3-4 minute time period.
The competition will comprise of a single round and the participants will be judged by a panel of three judges.
The time limit given to perform, will be strictly monitored by the judges
The participants are allowed to use musical instruments or props.
Multiple entries by the same participant will lead to disqualification.
 
Vibate – The Debate Competition
 
  • Date: 26 February, 2016
  • Venue: Chemistry Lecture I
 
Rules:
 
  • Each team should consist of two members.
  • One member shall speak in favor while other should speak against the motion.
  • Each speaker will have 3 minutes to speak.
