IBSAT 2017 – IBSAT 2017 is among famous national entrance examinations for MBA in India. This exam is conducted by ICFAI Foundation every year to shortlist the candidates for admission to its campuses. The test scores of IBSAT 2017 will be considered for admission to 9 IBS campuses for admission to PhD and MBA programs. IBSAT 2017 is an online aptitude, computer based test. The total time limit of this exam is 120 minutes (2 hours). There will be multiple choice questions in the exam. The test generally checks the vocabulary aptitude, reading skills, comprehension skills, data interpretation & quant skills and analytical skills of the candidate. IBSAT application form was released on 1st July 2017. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on four days i.e. from 21st December 2017 to 24th December 2017. Candidates should apply before 18th December 2017. Candidates will be shortlisted for the next round of admission process on the basis of their performance in this exam. Hence, candidates are required to appear for IBSAT 2017 in order to take admission at IBS campuses for PGPM/MBA/PhD programs.

IBSAT Eligibility Criteria 2017

ICFAI IBSAT has well-defined eligibility criteria which is the minimum criteria to qualify for IBSAT 2017. According to IBSAT eligibility criteria 2017, the candidate who is applying for IBSAT, should have a three year’s bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline, from any recognized university. The candidate is required to have scored at least 50% in the three years’ degree. Before the candidate sit for filling up IBSAT application form 2017, s/he should check eligibility criteria of IBSAT 2017. Here we are explaining some eligibility criteria for IBSAT 2017 in order to inform the candidates with all the information required.

2 Year Management Programme

  • The applicant should have completed graduation with minimum 50% in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • All the candidates must have studied in English medium. Students who are not from English medium background can meet the eligibility criteria by submitting their TOEFL/NELT/IELTS scores till May 31, 2018
  • Final year students can also apply for IBSAT 2017. However, they must complete their graduation formalities till May 31st 2018. Provisional admission will be given to such candidates but they must submit all the required documents latest by November 1, 2018
  • Valid scores of management entrance exam such as CAT, GMAT and NMAT are also acceptable.

PhD Programme

  • Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university that follows instructions in English medium


  • Post Graduation in Management (full time with specialization in marketing/finance/human resource management/ operations from a UGC  approved university) with 55% and above marks


  • Post Graduate (full time) in  Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Psychology, Mathematics, Public Administration or any allied subject with a minimum of 55% marks from a UGC recognized University.
  • A professional qualification like CA/ CFA/ CS/ CWA with a minimum of 55% marks.
  • Students from other medium backgrounds will have to submit their TOEFL/NELT/IELTS scores in order to clear IBSAT 2017 eligibility criteria.
  • The University will authenticate the Eligibility criteria from August 2018. Thus, applicants who do not completely satisfy the criteria now should do so by then.

IBSAT Application Form 2017

The application process of IBSAT 2017 has been started from July 1 and will be continued till December 18, 2017. There are two modes to fill the registration form of IBSAT 2017 i.e. online and offline.

Online Registration: Candidates will have to purchase the IBSAT bulletin through online payment. They will have to pay an amount of 1800 INR. After the successful payment, application number and password will be sent to the registered email id of the candidate. Using those credentials, applicants will have to fill the application form of IBSAT 2017.

Offline Registration: Candidates will have to obtain the IBSAT bulletin from the nearest IBSAT marketing centre. With the form, they will get a scratch card containing application number and password. They have to log in through their credentials and fill the IBSAT application form.

IBSAT Exam Pattern 2017

IBSAT 2017 will be a two hours test which will be conducted in online mode. There will be a total of 140 multiple choice questions. It will consist of 4 sections i.e. verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, reading comprehension, data adequacy & data interpretation. This exam is conducted to evaluate the candidate’s command over English language, numerical skills, analytical reasoning, quantitative ability etc.

Every question will carry one mark and there will not be any negative marking for the wrong attempt.

IBSAT Test Centres 2017

There will be more than 94 centres of IBSAT 2017 exam. Candidates will have to choose the exam centre during the period of slot booking. Candidates must select the exam city as per their convenience.

IBSAT Admit Card 2017

Candidates will receive the admit card of IBSAT 2017 after the successful registration. It will be available in online mode. Candidates must take out the print out of the Admit card. It will contain several important information regarding applicant such as name and roll number of the candidate, exam schedule and venue etc. Candidates must carry their admit card in the examination hall otherwise they will not be permitted to appear for the exam. To download the IBSAT 2017 admit card, candidates will have to use their registered email id and date of birth.

IBSAT Result 2017

The result of IBSAT 2017 was supposed to be announced in online mode on January 2, 2018. However, the result has been declared early on December 28, 2017.Candidates can check their result with their registration number and password. IBS will not declare the result in the form of score card or percentile. Instead of this, the list of shortlisted candidates will be announced. The selection briefings will be held between January 13 to January 17, 2018. Selected candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview between February 20, 2018 to February 26, 2018.

IBSAT 2017 Cut-Off

After the declaration of IBSAT result, all the campuses of IBS will announce their cut-off list. Candidates will have to meet the cut-off scores in order to be called for further selection process. The cut-off may vary from campus to campus.

IBSAT Selection Procedure 2017

After the announcement of the result, shortlisted applicants should be present for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds at IBS Hyderabad. The final result will be prepared by The ICFAI Foundation. The participating institutes will declare the shortlisted candidates list on January 2, 2018. GD and PI rounds will be conducted between February 20 to February 26, 2018. Aside from the GD and PI, different factors, for example, the candidate’s scholastic record and work experience will equally matter while setting up the final merit list.
