IEST, Shibpur: Preparations on for 67th Republic Day Celebration

Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur will celebrate the republic day in a grand manner!

67th Republic Day
Republic Day is round the corner. India is going to celebrate its 67th Republic Day this year on January 26. The country celebrates republic day to honour the constitution as it came into force in 1950 on same day. It is celebrated throughout the India with great enthusiasm by the students and teachers in the schools, colleges, universities and other educational institution, though it is declared as gazetted holiday by the Indian Government.
Following the tradition, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur is also set to celebrate the republic day with an array of events scheduled for the day.

Republic Day 2016 highlights:

  • Like every year, the capital city Delhi is all preparing to celebrate one of the national evets with same zeal and fervour. 
  • This year the chief guest of Republic Day of India in 2016 may be the French President Francois Hollande (yet to confirm)
  • An excellent parade and salute event will be held by the military team at the Rajpath in front of the India Gate in the New Delhi, India
  • National awards (Maha Veer Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Param Veer Chakra, Veer Chakra) and bravery medals will be given away like every year
  • Indian Army, Air Force, Navy and traditional dance group takes part in the parades
  • Centre of attraction, like every year, will be the cultural programmes performed by the professionals from different states showcasing their tradition and culture
Indian Government is working a lot to celebrate the day in a grand manner. Preparation is going on full swing. Government expects this to be the as grand as previous Republic Day Celebrations!
