IIFT seems to have posed a big problem before the MB aspirants who have scored less than 50% marks in their graduation. As per the latest announcement made by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), among the most prestigious B – schools of India, the institute has modified the eligibility criteria for admission to MBA IB which is processed through an entrance examination every year. As per the reports coming in, IIFT has made some major change in its official eligibility policy for MBA admission and it has set a minimum score of 50% in graduation for registration to its MBA program.
According to the reports, now only those candidates will be able to appear in IIFT MBA IB examination those who have scored marks more than 50% in their bachelor’s programme. Thus, if any candidates who has scored less than 50% in bachelors and want to apply for IIFT, s/he won’t be eligible for application. This change in the eligibility criteria can trouble the students.
IIFT used to accept application form of the students who scored less than 50% marks in their graduation. Hence, it was the only hope of such students with fewer marks who aspired to do MBA from a reputed college. Now, IIFT seems to have broken their dreams. This eligibility policy will allow students with more than 50% marks from this year onwards. Students need to stay updated via official websites of IIFT for further updates.
What is the change in IIFT 2018 Eligibility Criteria?
This year IIFT has prescribed a minimum score of 50% in the graduation if anyone wants to apply for IIFT 2018 – 2020. Till last year, there were no such criteria and students who had scored less than 50% were happy enough to make their dream of pursing MBA come true. According to the announcement made by IIFT officials.
‘Recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with 50% marks in Graduation (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates). Candidates appearing in the final year examination of graduation can also apply.’
This is the only change which IIFT has made. There is no other change in anything. All the norms and criteria are all same which were in last year.
Why is there a change in IIFT 2018 Eligibility Criteria?
IIFT has brought this major change in its eligibility criteria due to some reasons. The big reason behind this change is that IIFT is keeping other MBA entrance examinations in mind. If we look at other MBA entrance examinations in the country, we will find that everyone asks at least 50% marks in three year bachelor’s program from any discipline. Till last year, it was IIFT only who used to accept less than 50% marks but now it too has stopped accepting score less than 50% in graduation. Moreover, the students who have registered for IIFT MBA IB with less than 50% marks in graduation, their registration applications have been withdrawn by IIFT from its online application base.
This is the second big change which IIFT has made for its MBA IB entrance examination. Before too, the institute made change in its exam date. It was done as exam date of CAT 2017 and IIFT MBA IB 2017 were falling on the same day.
