IIM, Bangalore organises India Conference on Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition

Innovation conference at IIT Bangalore
The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore's (IIM-B) conference on Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition will be held on 7 and 8 December, 2015 and will be attended by industry chieftains, academics from Ivy League colleges and policy makers to discuss ways to spur Indian innovation & entrepreneurship. 
The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman & MD Biocon India Limited, on 7th December at 9.00 am.
Speakers include – Tarun Khanna, Harvard Business School at Harvard University; Zorina Khan, Professor Of Economics, Bowdoin College | Visiting Faculty, London School Of Economics; Lee Branstetter, Professor of Economics and Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University; Shyamkrishna Balganesh, Professor, Law, University of Pennsylvania Law School; Srikanth Gopalakrishnan, VP Product Management, SAP Labs India; Kirti Gupta, Director of Economic Strategy, Qualcomm Inc;  Ashok Chawla, Chairman, Competition Commission of India (CCI); among others.

The Conference will feature special tracks on:

  • International Innovation, India & Economic Growth; 
  • Intellectual Property Rights, Indian Innovation & Make in India; 
  • Evaluating Innovative Activity: Evidence from the Patent Office;

The Conference will also host a wrap-up conclave on ‘Women & Innovation in India’ on Tuesday, 8th December.
