IIM Calcutta has achieved complete 100 % summer placement for 2019 batch. Indian think tank Niti Aayog also walked in the campus selecting five students.
The summer placement at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta is successfully over for PGDM 2017 – 2019 batch. In just two days of span, the B – school has gained complete 100% placement. The press release reported that round 180 companies of various business background walked in the campus for summer placements. Further in the statement, it has been said that NITI Ayog which is the top planning body of Indian Government, also visited the B – school and also selected five students.
IIM Calcutta is India’s first management school with Triple Crown. It has been able to retain its crown because 5 private equity organizations along with 7 investment bank organizations participated in the placement process. Triple Crown is the acknowledgement which is awarded to B – schools all over the world by three main International Accreditation Bodies for Business Schools including EQUIS, Association of MBAs (AMBA), and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). A total of 77 B – schools have been accredited triple crown worldwide.
According to the press release, 188 offers amounting to 41 percent of the total back were from consulting and finance sectors. It has been said that the highest number of offers were made by Goldman Sachs whereas top recruiter was Boston Consulting Group when it came to hiring the students. The think tank of Indian government, Niti Aayog has picked five students Nikhil Tajane, Ankit Upadhyaya, Vishva Prakash, Krishnendu Giri, from the campus.
Apart from these global business organizations, students also got placed in other major sectors including, general management, product & operation management, e – commerce etc. Many students were hired in general, marketing and operations management by Uber, Coke and Aditya Birla Group.
