IIM Raipur Admission Criteria 2018-20

Indian Institute of Management Raipur is the tenth IIM established by Indian Government in 2010. IIM Raipur, like other IIMs, also offers diploma programs in management. It also provides full time and part time academic programs. IIM Raipur has announced admission criteria for its Post Graduate Program for 2018-20 batch. As per the admission guidelines announced by IIM Raipur, it will shortlist the candidates on the basis of personal interview and written analysis test (WAT) which will be performed on the basis of CAT 2017 percentile. The cutoff of general and NC – OBC categories is 90 and 81 respectively whereas the cutoff for candidates belonging to SC category, the cutoff will be 75 (the same will be for ST category). Stages of IIM Raipur Admission Criteria 2018-20

Below mentioned are the stages of admission criteria of IIM Raipur PGP 2018-20

  •  At first, the candidates are shortlisted for personal appearance process (PA).
  •  Next, the personal appearance process is conducted, including personal interview and written analysis test.
  •  After this, the institute will prepare the admission list which will be on the basis of candidates’ performance in CAT 2017, personal interview and written analysis test.

Stage 1 of IIM Raipur Admission Criteria 2018-20

The first stage of admission criteria at IIM Raipur includes the shortlisting of the candidates for personal interview and written analysis test on the basis of CAT 2017 percentile. The table given below shows the section wise and overall percentile as decided by the authority.

The number of candidates to be shortlisted for personal interview and written analysis test will be decided by the Institute’s admission authority. In case, the number remains less, the institute will consider calling the candidates as per the categories.

Stage 2 of IIM Raipur Admission Criteria PGP 2018-20

The candidates who were shortlisted will appear in personal interview and written analysis test. On the basis of the performance of the candidates in personal interview and written analysis test, the institute will release a merit list.

Stage 3 of IIM Raipur Admission Criteria PGP 2018-20

The institute will prepare the final list on the basis of overall performance which includes CAT score, personal interview, written analysis test score and academic profile. The shortlisted candidates will be selected for the merit list.

IIM Raipur will give 10% weightage to written analysis test and personal interview will be given a weightage of 20%. The institute will give 38% weightage to profile. This includes 20% weightage to academic profile, 6% weightage to work experience and 12% weightage is given to diversity. The weightage for academic profile is given as, 6% for 12th standard, 7% for 10th and under graduation respectively. Check the following table:

The institute also takes care of diversity while preparing the merit list. Thus, it gives weightage to diversity as well. For academic diversity, the institute gives 6 points. Below are the academic disciplines which will be considered for academic diversity.

Arts/Humanities:  archeology, anthropology, education, history, liberal arts, languages, geography, mass communication, journalism, library and information science, music, literature, philosophy, music, performing arts (drama/dance/theatre), psychology, sociology, public administration, social work, political science, physical education, statistics, social work etc.

Commerce: costs, works accountancy, chartered accountancy, auditing, accountancy, banking etc.

Science: physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, zoology etc.

Others: management, pharmacy, medicine etc.

Offer Acceptance Fee and Withdrawal

A candidate receiving admission offer from IIM Raipur and accepting the offer within the stipulated date needs to send Offer Acceptance Form along with Offer Acceptance Fee of Rs 50,000/-. “In the event of a candidate withdrawing from the program before registration, the waitlisted candidates should be given admissions against the vacant seat. The fees collected from the candidate after deduction of processing fee of Rs. 1000/- shall be refunded. If any candidate has registered for the program, her/his Offer Acceptance Amount will be then adjusted against Term 1 Fee. In the event of withdrawal from the Program after registration, and if the seat consequently falling vacant get filled by another candidate by the last date of admission, IIM Raipur will return the fees collected with proportionate deductions of fee and hostel rent, where applicable.”
