IIT Bombay M. Tech Eligibility Criteria 2017:

Your IIT Bombay M. Tech Admission dream can only fructify if you fulfil eligibility criteria exclusive to this technical institute. So, check out the detailed eligibility criteria mentioned below:

o   Consider applying only if have any of the B.E., B. Tech., B.Sc. (Engineering), M.Sc., M.C.A., MBBS, M. Pharm., or B. Pharma degree from a recognised institute.

o   The minimum aggregate percentile should be above 60 if you are a general category candidate. For SC, ST and PH candidates, the requirement is 55 percent.

o   Students with valid scores in Associate Membership Examinations, which is equivalent to B.E. / B. Tech. degree can also apply.

o   For overseas candidates or those with degrees from foreign institutes, submitting an equivalence certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities is a requisite.

o   Clearing the corresponding GATE paper, an India level exam conducted in eight zones, is also required for IIT Bombay M. Tech Admission in any discipline.

o   If you are an IIT B. Tech degree holder with a CGPA/CPI of 8.00 or above on 0 to 10 scales, sitting for GATE is not mandatory. However, the application procedure remains unchanged.

o   The application form for M Tech and M tech + PhD programmes is common and eligibility criteria are mutual as well.

Filling up the M Tech Application Form:

It is no brainer that your IIT Bombay M. Tech Admission endeavours will be realised only if you fill up an application form, which is available online. However, you need to maintain optimum precaution when filling up the form, as wrongly filled forms attract cancellation. 

o   The ball gets rolling with an online registration. Herein, you are required to select the birth category to start with. You can proceed by entering your qualifying percentage and GATE registration number. 

o   Upon registration, the system will revert to you with login ID and a password via email. The former will serve as your username, while the latter will be crucial for logging in.

o   Next, you need to furnish key information, such as name and other personal details, mailing and permanent address, and academic qualifications amongst others. Ensure that the information provided is true to the best of your knowledge and easily verifiable.

o   The submission process concludes with payments, which can be made through either a Demand Draft or Online via Credit Card, Debit Card, SBI Internet Banking or Online Payment System.

o   If you prefer paying via a DD, submitting a hard copy of the application form is essential. However, there is no such requirement for candidates paying online.

o   Make sure to take a print of the filled in application form for future reference. You never know at which point during IIT Bombay M. Tech Admission you may need it.
