During a meeting of JAB memeber, conducted on 17 September 2018 (Sunday) at IIT Kanpur, the examination date and exam conducting authority of Joint Entrance Exam (Advanced) – 2018 have been finalized. The JEE (Advanced) 2018 would be conducted on 20 May 2018 (Sunday). However, the date is not declared on the official website of JEE Advanced, jeeadv.ac.in. The meet to decide the final mode of taking examination is yet to be held in coming 10 days. After that students will finally come to know the mode of examination.
Prof Shalabh, organising Chairman of JEE (Advanced) – 2018 has revealed the examination dates to TOI and further stated that the JAB members will discuss on the examination mode in due course of time. Hence, it can be concluded that all the decision from issuing the admit card to release of answer keys of JEE Advanced will be taken by IIT Kanpur.
An official of MHRD said, “The online version of the test will make logistics easier and the evaluation process more accurate. It will also take care of security issues because there will be no scope for question paper leaks.”
JEE Advanced is the only examination to get admission in undergraduate engineering courses (B.Tech/ BE) at 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Candidates who qualify the JEE Main 2018 will be able to appear in JEE Advanced 2018. Top 2.2 lakh JEE Main qualifiers are permitted to appear for the Advanced test. No separate application forms will be issued for JEE Advanced 2018. The online registration of JEE Main 2018 will commence in December 2017.
