IIT-Kanpur student was offered a package of INR 1.5 crore by Microsoft. Read further to know the details.
Microsoft has just offered a whopping 1.5 crore package to a student in IIT-Kanpur. As per reports, the student will be given INR 94 lakh as basic pay with $70,000 as expenditure for medical, stock ownership options, visa charges etc. The overall package sums up to around 1.5 crores.
He has been offered the job in Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond. He is offered the position of a software designer and will handle designing, implementation and fixing bugs.
In the previous week, 10 IIT students were offered INR 78 lakh package from Samsung. Uber also offered about INR 75 lakh as basic salary at IIT-Madras. Last year, Oracle offered 1.5 crores to four IIT-Kanpur students. Google offered a sky-high 1.8 crore package to a student from IIT-Patna in 2014.
As per reports, close to 200 companies are expected to visit IIT-Kanpur this year for placements. Last year, almost 280 companies had visited the campus and the highest package offered was INR 93 lakh.
This year, IIT-Bombay saw the participation of 10 companies during the first slot. Out of 300 students who appeared for the placement, only 20 were selected. Last year, over 60 students were placed during the first slot. In the second slot, there were 11 companies. This is the first time that Uber visited the IIT-B campus.
At IIT- Kharagpur, almost 90 students were placed at the end of two sessions on day one. About 25 companies came to the college. While IIT Kharagpur saw a decline in the number of companies, IIT Guwahati witnessed an increase in the number of companies on day one.
