IITKGP surpassed a 1000 job offers mark in a record eight days of the first phase of placements season 2017-18.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IITKGP) sets a record of creating more than 1000 job offers for its engineering students in eight days in the first phase of 2017-18 placement season conducted at IITKGP. With Standard Chartered Bank and Wipro making 13 offers each and Capgemini creating 12 offers, the total job offers surpassed a 1000 mark, confirmed IITKGP officials. This number continues to grow, as the first phase of placements will be on until December 14, 2017.
The Quantiphi Analytics, a Data Science and Machine Learning software company, with 34 jobs offerings, became the largest recruiter of IITKGP students in the on-going placement phase of IIT Kharagpur. Intel, by offering 33 jobs, named as the second largest recruiter. Besides, some of the internationally recognised companies including Microsoft, Uber, Mercari, LG Korea and Konica made 30 offers to the students. Along with these big names, there were some PSUs such as ISRO, ONGC and IOCL, which made a total of 29 job offers.
According to the officials, the prominent technology institute is likely to see more job offers in the first phase of placements at IIT-KGP as there are as many as 50 companies and universities expected to visit the IITKGP campus for further placements until December 14, 2017.
