IIT-Kharagpur Ranked No. 1 among other Indian Varsities in QS Employability Survey

QS Employability Survey

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur has been ranked as No. 1 among the top Indian Universities according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Employability Survey. This is the second time when IIT-Kharagpur has been positioned at the top among all the other Indian varsities in the top 100 of the global employability ranking.

Earlier in 2015 IIT-Kharagpur was placed at 77 followed by IIT Bombay at number 93 among the top 100 International Universities and this year IIT Kharagpur has been ranked in the range of 71-80, which is again the highest position among Indian Institutions. IIT Bombay has been ranked next to IIT Kharagpur in this year's survey.

The top three positions of the survey have been occupied by Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Shinhwa University of China. Other universities to be ranked among the top 200 varsities include IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, University of Delhi, Lancaster University, Georgetown University, Pennsylvania State University, University of Liverpool, Queensland University of Technology and University of Illinois, Chicago.

IIT Kharagpur

IIT Kharagpur has been ranked No. 1 among the Indian Institutions because of its graduate employability rate and employer's presence in the campus. The institute awards degrees to around 2500 students every year and it also maintains a successful placement record of all its students who enrol themselves for campus placement.

QS Employability Survey

QS Graduate Employability Survey is a pilot project where the ranking is done through a process of extensive research and investigation done by experts that analyse different parameters of over 1000 varsities in the world.

Parameters on which the ranking is done include employer's reputation, alumni outcome, performance of alumni, partnership with employer and graduate employment rate.
