Dr. Rituparna Basu, Assistant Professor of marketing, retail and entrepreneurship at IMI Kolkata was awarded AIMS-IRMA Outstanding Young Woman Management Teacher Award for the year 2016.
Dr Rituparna Basu, Assistant Professor of marketing, retail and entrepreneurship at IMI Kolkata was awarded the prestigious AIMS-IRMA Outstanding Young Woman Management Teacher Award for the year 2016 from the Association of Indian Management Scholars International at the Fourteenth AIMS International Conference on Management held in MICA, Ahmedabad on 26th December 2016.
Dr Rituparna Basu holds a Ph. D. in Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and has been with IMI Kolkata for the last 4 years. The honour is presented in acknowledgement of her benefaction to management teaching in the country. The jury demonstrated that her practice drove research over an extensive variety of subjects, such as, retail, sports advertising, children as consumers, or entrepreneurship has not just had an effect over the scholarly fraternity but additionally her inclination to build her curriculum around her research publications and cases has been imperative for management education at last. Her self-designed simulations and innovative learning tools are esteemed as contemporary and engaging with a natural panache to convey more significance to the class. Interestingly, she is the only one from Kolkata among all the award winners and so far as this is concerned from the eastern part of the nation.
Dr Basu verbalised her experience and expressed that, while it is a snapshot of bliss to be perceived for her contribution in the field of management education, this honour likewise carries with it much more duties and responsibilities for her to set new benchmarks and make learning more meaningful and exciting for her students.
