India overtakes the US in terms of interest in mobile development courses. Read further to know more.
India has become the top country, bypassing the US in terms of interest in mobile developer courses, said Google India. In the last two years, India has seen a 200% growth in search queries in mobile development courses. Maximum queries were seen from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The head of Google Developer Training, Peter Lubbers, said in a statement that mobile developer courses have seen an excellent response in India, with over 16,500 students enrolling every month, learning Android development, cloud technology, and mobile web development.
With India surpassing the US in usage and adoption of Smartphone at 220 million active devices, the interest in learning mobile development courses saw a great increase in demand in the country.
The mobile development courses also saw search interest from the state of Uttar Pradesh, with the queries growing at 70% year-on-year. Bihar also saw a query growth of 158% year-on-year.
Google India said that while India is leading in terms of educational queries, there has also been a steady rise in the demand for vocational training courses, which comprises 40% of the total search volume growing at a set rate of 50% year-on-year.
Starting 2017, over 40 private and state technical universities will offer the “Android Fundamental” course as part of their standard curriculum.
