India's Scientific Research and Technological Advancement: The journey

This Interactive session at NIT, Kurukshetra was headed by Prof. P. J. Philip Coordinator, SGSD and Prof Prashant Salwan, IIM Indore!

Department of Business Administration, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra started the new session with an interactive discussion of students with Prof. P. J. Philip Coordinator, SGSD and Prof Prashant Salwan, IIM Indore. In the beginning Prof P.J. Philip illustrated the progressive journey of India's scientific research and technological advancement. He explained how research laboratories throughout the country are contributing towards social wellbeing by means of weather forecasting and remote sensing.
In the second session, Prof. Salwan Post Doc from London School of Economics highlighted on the needs and importance of competitiveness and hard work as the key for success. Dr. Salwan, covered some important topics on becoming successful managers. He discussed how the modern notion of getting work done in an office building is worth challenging. 
Further, he outlined the fundamental problems that professionals may experience in this globalized era and also gave some valuable suggestions for achieving great heights in work life. He elaborated about how budding managers should embrace technological advancements to achieve strategic advantage. In the session Prof. Salwan exhibited his experience of working in cross-cultural domains and provided a critical insight on how learning from experiences can act as catalyst in achieving professional growth. In concluding remarks he asked the students to think big in going perspective to excel in professional life.
Dr Neeraj Kaushik, Head, Department of Business Administration thanked the speakers and exhorted the students to imbibe these words of wisdom in their daily routine.
Dr Mohd Firoz, Dr Manish Jha, Dr Kranti Walia, Dr Aparna Sharma, Rachin Suri and other faculty members and research scholars were also present on this occasion.
