INDICON was the bunch of vibrant and unique ideas related to electrical, electronics and computer engineering!
The much anticipated international conference INDICON commenced on December 17, 2015, hosted by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. The four day conference started with the inaugural session on a fine 18th morning. INDICON, the twelfth in series is the annual conference conceptualized by the IEEE. Jamia was honored to host such a meteoric conference. It was attended by several foreign delegates, IEEE members from all over the country and various students from different colleges.
The inaugural session was initiated with the marking words of Prof. Majid Jamil, Head of Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia. Prof. Mini S. Thomas, the General Chair of INDICONdelivered an awe gripping speech on the milestones the conference aimed at achieving. The Chief Guest of the inaugural, Prof. Roberto John Thomas, IEEE 2014 President from Brazil gave an insight on the faster technological innovations in the field of Electronics, Energy, Communication and Control. He appreciated the remarkable breakthroughs the Aerospace community of India is making. This followed the release of the souvenir of INDICON 2015 by all the delegates present in the inaugural. Prof. Saifur Rahman of Virginia Tech University, USA was highly impressed with the enthusiasm showed by the college students and appreciated the content of the papers submitted by them. Prof. Roger U. Fujii, IEEE CS President 2016, USA promised to deliver better services to India.
The inaugural came to an end with the Presidential speech of Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia who saw that all the odds are meted out smoothly. His overwhelming support throughout the conference was worth appreciating. The inaugural also saw the release of the book on SCADA authored by John D. McDonald, GE, USA and Prof. Mini S Thomas, Jamia Millia Islamia, India.
The conference witnessed eight tutorials the previous day on various subjects spoken by the eminent delegates who were invited to the conference from far and wide. With over 2195 submitted papers and 1807 active papers for review, INDICON 2015, seemed to be a buzz with vibrant and unique ideas on topics related to electrical, electronics and computer engineering. INDICON 2015 also featured a whopping 90 oral paper presentation sessions and 13 poster presentation sessions for three days.
The conference ended on a successful note on December 20, 2015 thanks to the organizers of the conference headed by Prof. Majid Jamil, Head of Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia.
