Jamia Millia Islamia chosen as Centre for Promotion of Sports by Sports Authority of India

Sports Authority of India (SAI) has chosen Jamia Millia Islamia as its extension centre for promotion of athletics, hockey and football.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has augmented Jamia Millia Islamia as its centre for promotion of athletics, hockey and football.

Colleges and schools with up to date and adequate sports infrastructure along with a history of producing eminent national and international sportspersons were eligible for the program promoted by SAI, the nodal agency of the sports ministry. Jamia Millia Islamia fulfilled the criteria.

The scheme has been promoted with a view to promote sports especially at the junior level.

Under the program, Jamia will be conducting selection trials for athletics, hockey and football from Feb 4th - 6th. Boys in the age between 12 to 18 years are eligible to appear in the trials.

Students not studying with Jamia can also be a part of this program.

Trails will take place on 4th Feb 2013 at TTI Ground, Faculty of Education, Jamia Millia Islamia. For any further details, please contact:
