Jamia University Conducts Mirass, the national inter-university Cultural Fest

JMIU witnessed participations from more than 60 universities including Delhi University, JNU, AMU, BHU, Uttaranchal University, and Agra University (cross link) in various competitions at Miras.

Mirass, the national inter-university cultural fest of Jamia Millia Islamia University, was successfully conducted between February 16 and 18, 2016.
 
JMIU witnessed participations from more than 60 universities including Delhi University, JNU, AMU, BHU, Uttaranchal University, and Agra University (cross link) in various competitions like dance, singing, creative writing, debate etc.
 
The inaugural session was conducted on February 16, 2016 by Padma Shri Shovana Narayan. On February 17, former Foreign Minister, Mr. Salman Khursheed unveiled the running trophy dedicated to Dr. Zakir Hussain, the third honorable President of India, and also one of the illustrious founders of Jamia Millia Islamia.

Baitbaazi Competition: 10 teams from different colleges (Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi University, Aligarh Muslim University, etc.) across India gathered to experience the sense and sublime recitation of urdu poetry, an endeavour towards reviving the beautiful, exoticism of Urdu language.
Nukkad Natak: 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Through a rigorous screening, 14 teams out of 32 were selected for nukkad natak competition which was conducted on February 17. The teams highlighted various social and political issues prevalent in the global world through their performances.
 
 
Book Cover Design Competition:
 
 
 
 
 
 
Jamia Millia Islamia with a participation of 25 students from different universities and colleges, introduced the book cover design competition. The event was an endeavour towards giving the writer the freedom to shape and nurture the life he/she has given to his/her book.
 
 
Debate competition
 
Overall, 40 teams participated in the debate competition.
