JEE Advance 2018 Application

JEE Advanced 2018 Application: JEE Advanced 2018 exam date has been released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, which is the conducting body of this year’s JEE Advanced examination. The exam is decided to be conducted on May 20, 2018, Sunday. The exam will comprise of two papers namely Paper I, which is going to held from 9 AM to 12 PM and Paper II, which will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM. JEE Advanced 2018 will be conducted under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2018. However, the JEE Advanced 2018 Application Form date and other important dates have not been released by the IITs yet. JEE Advanced 2018 Application Process

The JEE Advanced 2018 Application Procedure will consist of three steps, which are mentioned below:

Step 1

Interested candidates should visit the official portal of JEE Advanced 2018 i.e. www.jeeadv.ac.in and login to their accounts.

Now, the candidate needs to provide all the required information mentioned in the online application form including the question paper language (English or Hindi) and desired examination centre etc.

Step 2

After filling up all the requisite information, upload the scanned copy of the mandatory documents. The SC/ ST/ OBC and PwD category candidates must upload the category certificates along with the other required documents.

Step 3

The third and the final step is to pay the prescribed application fee for JEE Advanced 2018. Candidates should note that the fee once paid cannot be refunded or transferred under any circumstances.

(Important Note: JEE Advanced 2018 fee might be increased in the wake of GST)

Moreover, all the candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2018 before registering for JEE Advanced 2018 examination. If any candidate found not satisfying the eligibility criteria, his/her registration will be called off. Let’s take a look at the JEE Advanced eligibility.

JEE Advanced 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The IIT Kanpur has set five major criteria that the candidate has to satisfy in order to apply for JEE Advanced 2018 examination. Check out these criteria here:

Criteria Number 1

Applicants must be among the top 2,24,000 candidates, including all the categories, passing the Paper I of JEE Main 2018.

There will be category wise seat reservation policy, which is mentioned below:

Candidates must be aware that in these above-mentioned categories, 5% horizontal seats will be reserved for applicants belonging to PwD category.

Criteria Number 2

The second criterion is to satisfy the age limitation. The general category candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 1993, while the age limitation for candidates belonging to the reserved categories i.e. SC/ST and PwD is a bit different. Such candidates will get a relaxation of five years, thus, must have been born on or after October 1, 1988.

Criteria Number 3

The candidate can appear for JEE Advanced exam for maximum two times in consecutive years. Those already made the attempt twice will be considered as non-eligible and will not be allowed to sit for the examination.

Criteria Number 4

The criteria number 4 is to satisfy the educational qualification, which is as follows:

The applicant should have appeared for XIIth examination or any other qualifying examination in either year of 2017 or 2018.

Along with it, the candidate must remember the following passing year policy set by the examination authority:

In case the candidate’s examination board announced the qualifying exam result after June 2016, s/he is eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2018. However, such candidates must satisfy other criteria set by the exam authority.

On the other hand, in case the candidate’s examination board announced the result before June 2016 but the candidate’s result is on hold for any reason, s/he cannot apply for JEE Advanced 2018 examination.

Criteria Number 5

The candidate will be permitted to sit for JEE Advanced 2018 exam only if s/he must not have been admitted to any IIT before.

Note: It does not have anything to do with whether or not the candidate wishes to continue pursuing the programme s/he has applied for. However, if the candidate has pursued or is pursuing any preparatory course in any IIT, s/he can apply for JEE Advanced 2018.

If the candidate satisfies these above-mentioned criteria, s/he can apply for JEE Advanced 2018 examination.
