JEMAT 2017

Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (JEMAT) 2017 is a state level pen- paper mode entrance examination conducted in West Bengal conducted by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUTWB) for admission to various Postgraduate programmes approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Both Government as well as private management institutions accept the JEMAT scores for admission.

JEMAT 2017 Application Process

The application process for JEMAT 2017 will start in the month of June. Candidates who wish to apply for the exam can fill the application for the same by visiting the official website at http://www.wbut.ac.in/ , they can then download the application form from there. The complete application form has to be sent to the university office along with the examination fees-

Examination Fees- The examination fee is INR 800 for general category candidates and INR 400 for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH category candidates. The examination fees need to be paid via Demand Draft drawn in favour of West Bengal University of Technology payable at Kolkata.


Selection Procedure- The exam is conducted every year in the month of July and September/ October. The written exam is followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and a round of Personal Interview (PI). Final selection will be done on the basis of the performance in JEMAT, GD and PI.

JEMAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for JEMAT 2017, candidates must have a graduation degree mark-sheet in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply.

JEMAT 2017 Exam Pattern

The JEMAT 2017 question paper consists of questions from three main sections- Mathematical, Logical Reasoning and English.

  • The exam be conducted in pen and paper mode
  • There are a total of 100 questions to solve
  • The total duration of the exam is 2 hours
  • Each question carries 1 marks and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer

JEMAT 2017 Syllabus

The question paper of JEMAT 2017 is designed to test the reasoning ability of the candidates along with his/her knowledge about Mathematics and English Language. Below are the topics that one needs to study in order to prepare for JEMAT 2017.

Logical Reasoning

This section will include questions designed in order to test the reasoning ability of the candidates through questions based on pie Charts, bar graphs, line charts, venn diagram, tables, etc.

English

This section will include questions designed to test the candidate's knowledge about basic English Language-
Reading comprehension, usage and grammar, word meaning, antonyms/ synonyms, sentence correction, analogies and reserve analogies, fill in the blanks, verbal reasoning, facts/ inferences/ judgements, jumbled paragraphs and summary questions.

Mathematics

Percentage, simple and compound interest, number system, time and work, ratio and proportion, probability, quadratic equation, linear equations, profit & loss, lcm and hcf, geometry, permutation and combination, mensuration, set theory, etc.

JEMAT 2017 Admit Card

The JEMAT 2017 Admit Card for download in the month of July 2017, just one week prior to the exam. Candidates must keep an extra copy of the admit card for safety. It is compulsory to carry the admit card to the examination venue, candidates will not be allowed to sit for the exam without the admit card.

Candidates can download their JEMAT Admit Card by visiting the official website of JEMAT 2017. From there they can download their Admit Card by entering their application number and password that were generated during the application process to enter the site.

Candidates are advised to check the information like- name of the candidate, date of birth, roll number, exam venue and time and exam date, before downloading their Admit cards

JEMAT  2017 Results

The JEMAT Results will be declared in the month of August 2017. Candidates can view their results by entering their application number and password once they click on the JEMAT 2017 Result tab. Download the score card and keep and extra copy of the same for future reference.

JEMAT  2017 Counselling

The counselling for JEMAT 2017 will take place after the group discussion and personal interview in the month of September 2017.
The counselling schedule will be published on the official website www.wbut.ac.in after the declaration of the results. Candidates will have to attend the counselling session in order get admission to any management institution.

Verification of the document will also take place on the counselling day. Candidates need to carry all their educational documents to the counselling venue for verification.
